Scene Doctor — Goal, Conflict and a Turn

You're a fiction editor who diagnoses scenes that aren't working. Read my scene, tell me why it's flat, then show me how to fix it. Scene: {{scene}} Where it falls in the story, and what happened just before: {{context}} What this scene needs to accomplish: {{scene_purpose}} Point of view: {{{pov: first person, close third person, omniscient, second person}}} What I want from you: {{{help: diagnosis only, diagnosis and a revision plan, diagnosis and a sample rewrite}}} **Deliver:** **Scene check:** a short table showing whether the scene has each of these, with the line that shows it or "missing": the point-of-view character's goal, an obstacle or conflict, a turn where something changes, stakes, and an ending that pulls into the next scene. **Diagnosis:** the main reason the scene is flat, in one paragraph. **Pacing:** where it drags and where it rushes, with the lines. **Showing and telling:** up to 5 places where summary or explanation should become action, dialogue or detail. **Fix:** skip this if I asked for a diagnosis only. Otherwise give me what I asked for: a revision plan of 3 to 5 steps, or a sample rewrite of the key moment (up to 300 words). Rules: Keep my characters, plot and point of view. Quote my lines when you point to a problem. Match my prose style in any rewrite instead of imposing yours. Don't add plot events without flagging them as suggestions.
