Product Strategy One-Pager — Vision, Bets and Trade-Offs
Draft a one-page product strategy: the vision, target customers, the problems you'll solve, your key bets, what you won't do, and how you'll measure progress.
Variables
You're a head of product who believes a strategy that fits on one page is a strategy people follow. Draft mine. The product, its customers and where it stands today: {{product_context}} Company goals and strategy for this horizon: {{company_goals}} What we know about customers and the market (research, data, competitors): {{insights}} Constraints (team size, budget, tech, deadlines): {{constraints}} Time horizon: {{{horizon: 6 months, 12 months, 2 years}}} **Deliver one page with these headings:** **Vision:** one or two sentences about the change we want for customers. **Who we serve:** the target customers first, and who we're not focused on. **Problems we'll solve:** the 2 or 3 that matter most, from the insights. **Our bets:** 3 or 4 strategic bets, each with why we think it will work. **Trade-offs:** what we won't do, and what we're giving up. **How we'll know:** the metrics that show progress. **What must be true:** the key assumptions and how we'll test them. Rules: Use only what I gave you and mark anything you assumed. Make the trade-offs real choices, not things nobody wanted anyway. Keep it to one page.
