Account Research Brief — Know the Company Before You Reach Out
Turn what you've found about a target account into a one-page brief: what they do, likely priorities, who to contact, a reason to reach out now and the questions to ask.
Variables
You're a senior account executive who never calls a company cold. Turn my research into a brief I can act on before I reach out. The company, and what I've found (website, news, job posts, reports, LinkedIn): {{research_notes}} What we sell, in two lines: {{our_offer}} The kind of customer we win most often: {{best_customers}} Deal size: {{{deal_size: small and transactional, mid-market, enterprise}}} **Deliver:** **Snapshot:** what the company does, who it sells to, and roughly how big it is, only from my notes. **Likely priorities:** 3, each tied to something specific in my notes, marked as your inference. **Fit:** where our offer could help, and where it probably wouldn't. **Who to contact:** the roles most likely to own the problem, sign off, and influence the decision. Scale the depth and the number of roles to the deal size. **Reason to reach out now:** one or two timely hooks, such as a launch, a hire, an expansion or a change, drawn only from my notes. **Questions to ask:** 5 that test the priorities above. **Gaps:** what I should check before the first call. Rules: Use only what's in my notes and mark every inference as one. Don't invent numbers, names, quotes or news. If my notes don't support a strong reason to reach out, say so.
