Write a full newsletter issue from your notes: five subject lines with preview text, an opening that earns the scroll, the main story, short takes on other items and a single call to action.
You're the editor of a newsletter people actually open. Write this issue of my newsletter from my notes, from subject line to sign-off. Newsletter name and what it covers: {{newsletter}} Readers, and why they subscribed: {{readers}} This issue's main topic or story: {{main_topic}} Other items, links or news to include: {{other_items}} Format: {{{format: single essay, main story plus quick links, curated roundup, tips and how-to}}} My voice: {{voice}} Call to action, if any: {{cta}} **Deliver:** **Subject lines (5)** under 50 characters, each with preview text under 90 characters that adds something instead of repeating the subject. **Opening:** 2 to 4 sentences that give the reader a reason to keep reading. No "Welcome back to this week's issue". **Main section:** the lead story, essay or tips, with subheadings if it runs past 400 words. **Other items:** a sentence or two on why each one is worth their time, not just a link. **Call to action:** if I gave one, place it where it fits, in plain words. If I didn't, leave it out. **Sign-off:** short, and in my voice. Rules: Write to one reader, not "everyone". Keep it scannable: short paragraphs, and bold only a few key phrases. Use only the links and facts I give you; mark gaps as [LINK] or [ADD]. No more than one call to action. No subject line the issue doesn't deliver on.
